Why are you going overseas to be a missionary when there are so many to disciple in our own country?

This is the number one question we get from people when they hear we are moving overseas to be missionaries. Indeed, there will always be a need in our country to make disciples and strengthen churches. However, there are multitudes of Christians, churches, bibles, Christian podcasts, Christian books, etc. People can find Jesus easily, if they want to. According to the Joshua Project there are 3.28 billion people in 7,419 people groups who are considered unreached. By unreached, they mean <2% evangelical or <5% professing Christian.
Jesus said, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2) Bill Sullivan said it this way, "The evangelization of the world waits not on the readiness of God but on the obedience of Christians." So then, don't we need more missionaries to go?
