Our MOBILIZATION Department exists to combat the scarcity of laborers by actively recruiting people as Goers (missionaries), Senders (financial partners), and Mobilizers (engaging from home), all for God's ultimate glory among the unreached. Led by the Director of Mobilization, our strategy focuses on building comprehensive pathways for involvement, with success measured by the number of individuals fully deployed to the Buddhist world. The Assistant Director of Mobilization provides vital support, drives new strategies, and meticulously tracks key statistics—from initial inquiry to completed application—to ensure the team's overall effectiveness. We rely on the Vision Trip Coordinator to organize trips that show prospective long-term missionaries a realistic view of life and ministry in Bangkok. The Mission Trip Coordinator recruits and leads teams using their hands to meet real needs while instilling a heart for missions and building a long-term pipeline. For those seeking a deeper preview, the Internship Coordinator designs and implements opportunities for people to spend significant time on the field before making a lifetime commitment. Once a decision is made, the Next Steps Coordinator ensures readiness by helping new missionaries complete all required tasks for full deployment to the field. To broaden our reach, the Conference Coordinator organizes large events that inform and excite God's people about our mission, while the Networking Coordinator seeks collaborative opportunities with external workers. Finally, the Prayer Coordinator undergirds the entire department by leading the team in intercession for the nations, more laborers, and unity among God's people.
The purpose of our TRAINING Department is to directly combat the crisis of missionary attrition, as nearly 50% of all missionaries often leave the field before completing their first term. By offering highly effective pre-field and on-the-field programs, we aim to ensure our missionaries are equipped, healthy, and remain on the field for long-term effectiveness. This holistic strategy is overseen by the Director of Training, who manages the two distinct yet complementary phases of our training pipeline. The first phase is pre-field instruction, the Missionary Training School (MTS), which models the proven GFM Atlanta curriculum and is managed by the MTS Coordinator. This coordinator also oversees several specialized language tracks, as we are actively seeking an English MTS Supervisor, Thai MTS Supervisor, Chinese MTS Supervisor, and a Burmese MTS Supervisor.
The second crucial phase of our training is the on-the-field program, easily remembered by the acronym SETTLING, which is specifically designed to mitigate the trauma and stress of moving to a new country. The SETTLING Coordinator manages this entire program, ensuring every new arrival receives initial, practical training and has access to ongoing mentorship. This training is based in Bangkok, Thailand because the complexity of this international metropolis provides the essential, real-world context for all practical skills needed for long-term missionary longevity.
The program addresses the eight vital practicalities of life through dedicated supervisor roles:
-
The Shelter Supervisor guides missionaries in finding, furnishing, and signing leases for homes.
-
The Economics Supervisor teaches financial literacy, covering international money transfers, banking, and navigating local commerce.
-
The Transportation Supervisor provides instruction on mastering Bangkok's complex public transportation systems, from the BTS Skytrain to various taxis.
-
The Tradition Supervisor covers cultural integration, focusing on Thai history, Buddhism, and social etiquette.
-
The Language Supervisor connects missionaries with effective resources for learning the Thai language, including tutors and schools.
-
The Immigration Supervisor handles the complexities of visas, required reporting, and necessary government paperwork.
-
The Nutrition Supervisor focuses on healthy eating, from ordering popular Thai foods to shopping and cooking with local ingredients.
-
The Groups Supervisor helps families find appropriate local schools, churches, and social groups for necessary community support.
The Assistant Director of Training provides operational execution and support across all these SETTLING categories, working under the Director as part of a professional development path. The overarching goal remains simple: to use this comprehensive practical training to ensure a high percentage of our missionaries remain healthy on the field well beyond five years.
The MULTIPLICATION Department's central mission is to initiate powerful Church Planting Movements (CPMs) in Thailand, which serves as our strategic Buddhism hub for reaching the entire Buddhist world. The ultimate goal is to cultivate indigenous growth, resulting in healthy, self-reproducing local churches led entirely by Thai believers. This strategic vision is set by the Director of Multiplication and managed operationally by the Assistant Director of Multiplication, ensuring seamless coordination across all teams. To accelerate this pipeline, the strategy relies on multiple Evangelists, BAM Team Members, and Church Planters who execute the core ministry functions under three integrated coordinator roles. The Evangelist ensures abundant Gospel sowing by directly engaging the lost through various outreach methods, diligently recording data for follow-up. The BAM Team Member operates a professional business, establishing access to unreached communities by building relationships, initiating Gospel conversations, and linking interested contacts to the appropriate follow-up teams. This initial contact leads to the Church Planter, who is responsible for cultivating new believers into mature, self-reproducing communities that will eventually grow into healthy local churches. Each of these field-level executors reports to a dedicated coordinator—Evangelism Coordinator, CPM Coordinator, or BAM Coordinator—who provides strategic oversight and coaching. This highly accountable and integrated process successfully transforms initial evangelistic outreach into sustainable Church Planting Movements.
The MERCY MINISTRY Department provides strategic executive leadership over all compassion initiatives, ensuring the work is holistic, professional, and directly integrated into the multiplication movement. This crucial integration transforms practical aid into genuine relational platforms for Gospel proclamation among the unreached. The entire department is led by the Director of Mercy Ministry and managed day-to-day by the Assistant Director of Mercy Ministry, who oversees all three specialized program areas.
Our work relies on multiple field-level team members executing core duties in three key areas:
-
ESL (English as a Second Language): Multiple ESL Team Members deliver high-quality instruction, utilizing the classroom as a platform for cultivating spiritual relationships and seamlessly connecting receptive students to the multiplication pipeline.
-
Community Development: Multiple Community Development Team Members execute the direct planning and daily management of development projects, focusing on transferring skills to local leaders and building rapport for spiritual multiplication.
-
Special Intervention: Multiple Special Intervention Team Members operate as frontline specialists, providing safe, sensitive, Christ-centered care while adhering to strict ethical protocols across various high-stakes crises.
Each of these teams is guided by a dedicated Coordinator (ESL Coordinator, Community Development Coordinator, or Special Intervention Coordinator) to maintain operational efficiency and ensure that every mercy program maintains its accountability and missional effectiveness.
It will take years for this full vision to come about but this is the strategy that we are praying through. My belief is that every Christian has gifts that could be used on our team so even if you don't see something here that sounds just right, there is more we can talk through. Many of these positions are leadership type positions but if you simply want to be on one of these teams, that is a possibility as well. Can you identify which areas you are most interested in at this point?
